God is bringing us into an understanding. Where the very environment that He’s calling us into is not there for us just to have a good time, there’s a purpose. And so I feel in this season, Grace Center, I really feel every person who can hear me - in house and online right now. The season you’re in right now, God is taking you into is not just so that you can have a good time, but there’s a purpose. God is marrying purpose with His presence in this season. And the danger comes when we find the purpose but we lose the presence or we find the presence but we lose the purpose.
There’s a tension the Lord is requiring of us in this season is to have the purpose and the presence. It’s to realize there’s a Who and there’s a why. See, you realize you lose your way when you lose your why. But when you find your way, you find your Who as well. There’s a purpose in His presence and there’s a presence in His purpose. And a lot of times we can get so distracted by what the Lord is really wanting to do in us and through us that we forget what God is doing in a bigger picture. And all these things come up in our lives, of wondering “God what are You saying? What are You doing?” And a lot of times we get anxious. We get in this place of “God I’m not sure what this next season is. Lord I’m not sure where I am or where I’m going.” Can I suggest to us today - I love this verse Psalm 119:105 - ‘Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” When you have the word, both rhema and logos, and this is something I really feel the Lord is upgrading in our lives right now - is that we don’t just become a people of rhema, but we become a people of logos as well. That it’s not just the spoken but it’s the written. And when you have that in your life according to Psalms is you don’t just have a light, you have a lamp. It doesn’t just reveal where you are, it reveals where you’re going.
And I want to tell you - the next prophetic conference, the next prophet coming along isn’t necessarily going to reveal to you where you are and where you’re going, but that’s something for you to embrace through the Word itself. You see, prophecy is confirmation, not always revelation. Yeah? And so when you feel in this place of anxiety, when you feel in this place of not sure where I am or where I’m going, guys the best place you can go is the Word of God.
And I want to encourage you right now. I didn’t do this in the first service, but I’m gonna do it in this one. I feel the Lord wants to bring us right now into stewardship. What God is laying on this house right now is not leadership, He’s laying stewardship upon this house. And the place of stewardship is this, you see, leaders manage, but stewards multiply. And many of us are looking for leadership qualities. I want to talk right now about stewardship qualities.
You see, a lot of us want to lead in our future. Many of us want to lead in our lives, but I feel the Lord wants to steward, bring stewardship in our lives. And this is what it looks like to steward your prophetic words. This is what it looks like to allow the words that are on your life to start working for you, not against you. You see, last year, this is what I said coming into 2017. I said “Lord, I’m done. I don’t want another prophetic word. If I get in another meeting” - and this is rare - do you realize prophets don’t get prophetic words? I’ve been in meetings with major prophets and they’re like “sir, right there” And I’m sitting right here [waves his hand] “What about me? I’m in the meeting.” And they’re like “Sir, 3 rows back.” And I’m like “Ah, I missed it again.” But I realized. I said this to the Lord, “I don’t want another prophetic word because I want to see the fulfillment of the ones I’ve already received. I don’t want another prophetic word.” But you know, one of the things I was treating the prophetic word as, I was treating the prophetic word as something God was going to do instead of having the revelation of what He’s already done.
I was treating the word as something that I can be instead of realizing it’s actually someone I am. And how many of us are treating our prophetic words as something that’s coming instead of something that is? How many of us are treating our prophetic words as something that’s predicting instead of actually something that’s powerful in the moment. You see, you are the fulfillment of your prophetic word. You showing up is the fulfillment of your prophetic word. Now it unfolds. And this is what happens, we get frustrated. And so I decided in stewarding my prophetic words, this is what I did. I got all my prophetic words and I laid them out, and I realized that I had grouped my prophetic words, I had laid them out chronologically. And I feel like this is something the Lord wants to do in this house. What I did is I took the prophetic words and I laid them out chronologically. You know, in 1997 I got this word, in 1998 I got this word, and I laid them all out chronologically and I got depressed because all of a sudden, you read in 2002 the Lord said this over my life and nothing’s come to pass. How many people have been there? How many people have got words from 1978? Guy at the back there - bless you my friend. And we get depressed why? And this is what happens with prophetic words. We date prophetic words and we take something that is spoken in a kairos moment and we box it in a chronos environment. Therefore the word now has age instead of being ageless. And we take something that God spoke in eternity and we bring it into a temporary environment. The other thing we do is because it’s chronological, we read the first word and it could be talking about expansion and then we read the next word and it’s talking about restriction. How many people have conflicting words on their life? “I’m going to send you to nations.” The next prophetic word, “The Lord’s really rooting you at home.” What? And you know, this is what I decided to do because Scripture says where 2 or 3 agree, it shall be established. I wasn’t seeing my prophetic words being established. So what I did, I took the dates off and then I started to look for a theme. Because in God’s dream for you, there’s a theme for you. In God’s dream for you, there’s a theme for you. And I began to look through all God’s dreams for me - cause that’s what prophetic words are - God’s dream for you. And I began to look all through the dreams and this is what I began to look for. I began to look for themes. And I began to group them themes together so that when I read my prophetic words, the first word I read agreed with the 2nd word. Guess what? Establishment took place.
And I feel like there’s people here right now God is wanting you to begin to steward your destiny. God is wanting you to begin to steward your prophetic words because most of us are living in chronos reality with a kairos hope. And God wants to bust us out of this restrictive thinking. God wants us to be ageless because He is ageless. Therefore if I am a man outside of time, I’m not restricted by it.
There’s two things that are going to control you in life - one is time and the other is finance. When you become subjected to time and money, they manage you. You see, God wants to bring us into stewardship. And when I become a steward of my time and finance, I can tell my time and money where to go instead of wondering where it went. I’m going to try this side.
When I become a steward of my time and finance, I can tell it where to go instead of wondering where it went. Wow, we’ve got some pentecostals in the house. And so God wants us to be stewards. He doesn’t want us to be managers.
You see there is a talent the Lord is releasing on this house. God is taking you from being a silo. I believe the Lord is releasing a university in this place. And it is the university of knowing what to do with talents and not just seed. I’m telling you, in the next 12 months there will be millionaires and billionaires coming to this place. And this is why. Because this is a field of dreams. And I love the movie the Field of Dreams. James Earl Jones. And this is what he says to Kevin Costner - “They’re coming Ray, they’re coming.” Money they have, but peace they lack. Money they have, but peace they lack. Peace isn’t an environment for us to have a good night’s sleep. Peace is shalom. Nothing missing, nothing required. And this is a house of shalom. And God’s taking you from being a seed house to being a talent house. Hear my words. And God’s going to give you strategy. God’s going to give you understanding of what it is to see talents multiplied and not just seed managed. I tell you guys - hear my heart. I didn’t expect to go down this route. This is what the Lord is speaking right now - is He’s bringing you into a place where you’re going to see transactions happen in and through people because the commodity isn’t of the world. The commodity is of His. And when you begin to realize that the commodity has nothing to do with this [hands waving] but everything do with this [points to heart], nations get changed. Because you can’t establish with your hearts what has first not been established in your heart. And many people are trying to do things when God wants us to be.
What does it look like for us to begin to train and equip people in talent, not just seed? Hear my heart. There will be people of seed here, but I’m telling you God in this next season is upgrading this house to a place of talent. And I love the parable of the talents. And the reason I love the parable of the talents is this - we see three examples. We see multiplication with two, but what did the third guy do? What did he do with his talent? He buried it. I would read that a lot and you know scholars have said you know he buried it because he was afraid. Can I suggest to us today? There’s something else you bury when you don’t have understanding. Where does the seed belong? Can I take liberty and suggest to us that the guy treated his talent as seed and put it in the ground expecting it to multiply? You see, your seed doesn’t multiply because you plant it. Your seed multiplies because of the environment. Because of the place, because of the intent. And what comes from that seed is the multiplication of your seed, it’s not your seed in the first place. And I fear that there’s people in this house listening to my voice right now that you are not seed people, you’re talent people. And you’re frustrated because you’ve been treating your seed like talent and nothing’s happening. And some of you in this place are talent people but you’ve been treating it like seed. And this is what the Lord’s doing is He wants to bring multiplication on your life but He wants to give understanding. You see, what understanding does, understanding allow us to stand under what God is doing. A lot of us want faith, but with faith, you have to have understanding. A lot of us want wisdom but with wisdom has to come understanding. Yeah?
And so the beautiful thing is the invitation God is bringing us into is actually for increase, is actually that we begin to step into multiplication. What does it look like that your assignment is not to be seen? What if your assignment is not to have a platform but to have a purpose? I’m flying on a plane, coming to the US and…I don’t care about my reputation. So I watched this film called Assassin’s Creed. Anybody seen it? There’s two honest people here…. And this is the line. I watched the whole thing and was oh yeah, until this person said this word - We work in the dark to serve the light. We work in the dark to serve the light. I want to tell you right now, there’s people in this building. There’s people in the sound of my voice that God is going to have you work in what you think are the shadows but it is the shadow of the Almighty. There’s people in this place right now that you’ll never have a platform but you’ll have purpose that changes nations. People in this place, you won’t have a voice, but you’ll have people’s ears. Hear my heart. You’ll feel like you haven’t got a voice, but you’ll have people’s ears.
And this is what the Lord’s doing right now in this house. There’s an assignment in this house that is going beyond impact. It’s actually influence. And you have to understand. God raises houses for impact, but he also raises houses for influence. He raised people for impact and He raises people for influence. The question I have for you today church is do you want impact or do you want influence? You see, impact is a moment. Influence is a movement. And the question is do you want a moment or do you want a movement? Yeah? And so this is where the Lord is inviting us into is that we will go on assignments. And this is what I learned from Graham Cooke. Graham Cooke said to me “Gary, I don’t do meetings. I do assignments.” And this is the beautiful thing. I don’t believe this is a house of meeting. I believe this is a house of assignment. And some of you are going to get frustrated because you’re like “Oh we need the impact.” You see, a river doesn’t make its way because of its power. It makes its way because of its persistence. A river doesn’t forge a way because of its power. It forges a way because of its persistence. And I’ll tell you what is going to be your undergirding is persistency and consistency in this house. It’s not always about this [arms open wide], sometimes it’s about this [arms close]
We have this advert in Australia. It’s one of the hospital things. And everyone does this [cups hands w/ a few inches in between]. And this is what it says - from little things, big things grow. You see, some of us want to swing from the oak tree, but God’s actually inviting us to plant the acorn. And what does it look like to plant? You see this is what legacy is, what inheritance is, what wisdom is. Sometimes God asks you to plant the seed so that a tree will grow whose shade you might never sit under. But your children will. Yeah?
And this is the beautiful place. But God is asking us to almost get over ourselves and to embrace the assignment of what He’s got for this house. And the assignment that’s on this house I don’t believe is just for city transformation. I believe what’s on this house is going to shake nations. But it’s going to come from a place of assignment. Taking off and landing. I’ll tell you, there’s people here, I’m prophesying this, there’s people in this room right now in the sound of my voice God’s going to take you on assignments that literally will take you past and beyond passport control. Someone in this room right now, I’m prophesying, you’re going to go on assignments that people will not know that you’ve entered a country and left a country. I’m talking like James Bond….No it doesn’t mean you get an Aston Martin.
But God’s doing something in the earth that requires those who know who they are and whose they are to arise. You see, I love Joel and this is what it says in Joel. In the last days I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And it says your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams. Your young men shall have visions. If you’re having both, you’re in a mid-life crisis. But this is what I couldn’t understand. It says in the last days, I’ll pour out My Spirit on all flesh. That means everyone, yeah? All flesh. That means the person you don’t like who lives next to you. That means your mother in law. That means your boss. All flesh. That means Baptists, Catholics, atheists, jihadists. God’s going to pour out His Spirit on all flesh. But then it says your sons and your daughters will prophesy. You see, God’s going to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, but what activates the power of the Spirit is sonship. God pours His Spirit out on everyone, but what activates it is sonship. What activates it is knowing that you’re a son and a daughter. Because there is the pouring out of the Spirit, but the manifestation of the Spirit comes through sonship. That’s why I know. Cause the Bible says He rains on the righteous and the unrighteous together. But what activates it is you know who you are and Whose you are. Sonship. And this is the assignment He has. But a lot of times we get into this place of “God I know what You’re doing.” But I don’t. “God I wish you’d give me some more prophetic words.” Friend, God doesn’t want us to collect prophetic words. He wants us to steward the ones we have.
How do we steward? How do we be stewards of what God has given us. You see Paul says in the word that we are stewards of the mystery. This is what the Lord is releasing. He’s releasing gatekeepers. That we stand at the gates of the natural and the supernatural. That we stand at the gates of heaven and earth. And we become stewards of mysteries. We become stewards of the secret place. We become stewards. Not to guard, but to multiply. And we get to invite people into encounters that they’ve never had. You see guys, you’re an encounter waiting to happen. I say to our church - Guys stop trying to bring people to a meeting and be the meeting. Stop trying to tell people a story and make them the story. You see, this is what I love about prophetic ministry. People will forget what you said but they’ll never forgot how you made them feel. And this is what the Lord’s doing in us stewarding these mysteries. We have the ability to not just see the gifts manifest but the fruit as well. And that’s how you mark the word. That’s how you mark what He’s doing in these last days. Where the fruit manifests, the gifts manifest. And where the gifts manifest, the fruit manifests. But friend, I don’t want us to be locked in to a place where we’ve already worked God out and this is how He’s going to do. Because I want to tell you right now, it ain’t going to be as you think.
This is what the prophet said - Surely God is in this place and I did not know it. And that’s where the Lord wants us not just to have a knowledge of He can, but to have an encounter that He is. See we all know God can move. But the knowledge doesn’t do anything. It’s the encounter that does. And what does it look like for us not just to be a knowing of information but a knowing of transformation? When Paul said that I may know him, knowing wasn’t a knowledge. Knowing was an experience. Experience. That we experience that He is present. That we experience that He’s good. That we experience that He’s kind. Yeah?
And so I want us to just look at this for a moment. Wow. Your greatest assignment is locked within your greatest anxiety. We’re all afraid of something. But either fear will disable you or it will draw you to a greater purpose in Him. And for too long fear has disabled us instead of drawing us closer to the Father. You know, my son loves watching Paw Patrol and all these things. And if all of a sudden a baddie comes up in it, he doesn’t just stand there and cry. He runs to me. And he brings me before the tv and he’s holding my hand. And I’m like Dude, you’re crazy. This has like caused you fear. But you’re no longer afraid when Father’s present. Can I suggest to us today most of us are afraid of our future because we don’t know Father’s present.
Years ago the Lord blessed us with a house in Idaho and some of you have heard the story of how God did that. You know, we had a house on the golf course and it was just amazing. But one day, someone knocked on the door and said there’s a prowler in the area. And I’m like “Okay, that’s fine. I’m Welsh.” But then one day I got up and during the snow time, there were steps that came up to our ranch slider but no steps that went away. So at that time, I went to Home Depot and got a hammer, a spanner, a screwdriver because I couldn’t carry a gun in Idaho because I wasn’t a resident, so I got the 2nd best thing. I got a crow bar. And instead of putting them in the tool shed, I put them at the side of my bed in the drawer. And so one night I’m laying there and I heard a noise outside. So I wake up Sarah and I say “Honey, there’s a noise outside. Go and check it.” I’m like - you wouldn’t hit a woman, so… And so every night I would check the house. I would check the windows and I would check the doors. It was like Mission Impossible. I would put the music on and I would run around the house and I would try to get back into the bedroom within 90 seconds and then I would fly myself on the bed. Wives you love that don’t you? When all of the sudden, the guy comes in and jumps on the bed. So I would check the windows every night. And then all of a sudden, kind of long story short, my brother took his life, so my dad and sister came out to stay. We were watching tv and had some dinner. And my dad said I’m going to go to bed cause you know I’ve flown in from Wales and I’m just going to go to bed. And I said Oh yeah, I think we’ll do the same. And so I walk with Sarah to the bedroom. And she turned around and said Honey, aren’t you going to check the house? And I said I don’t need to. My dad’s here.
How many of us are living in fear and anxiety because we’re not aware that our Father’s home? How many of us are afraid of what’s next because we haven’t had a revelation of presence. And we’re more caught up in our purpose than His presence. Yeah?
And this is what stewardship looks like - is most of us thinking we’re working for God instead of working with Him. This is what stewardship looks like - most of us are waiting for God instead of on God. It doesn’t say they that wait for the Lord renew their strength, it says they that wait on the Lord renew their strength. How many of us are waiting for Him instead of on Him?
And this is what He’s inviting us…guys there is a whole upgrade of talent. There’s a whole upgrade the Lord wants to do in this place, but it’s not going to be found in yesterday’s thinking. It requires a new upgrade. It requires a new upgrade of thinking. It’s church gym (Jim?) but not as you know it. What does it look to be truly an apostolic center? What does it look like to truly be what God’s called you to be?
And this is the thing. It’s the tortoise and the hare. Who won the race? Cause consistency will take you places. And one thing I’ve known about this house is you’re a consistent house. This is the message. This is the mandate. We’re not wavering.
So I want to say to you. I’ll say to the staff and the leadership team don’t waver with what God’s doing next. Because you haven’t looked to the right or to the left, you’ve kept your eyes fixed on what He’s calling you to do. And I feel such a delight of the Lord over you. I don’t want you to just take this corporately, I want you to take this personally. You see the Bible says don’t weary in well doing. Yeah? And so I feel today a prophetic message over you guys is you fully step into the environment of knowing that the Lord has an assignment on you for stewardship not leadership. Because stewards multiply, leaders manage. Am I speaking to somebody?
I want to leave us with this thought. When God speaks over your life, it’s not with a question mark, it’s with an exclamation mark. The issue comes when we don’t realize the fullness of the assignment. We put a question mark where the Lord’s put an exclamation mark. This is the tactic of the enemy friend. When God declares, the enemy brings doubt. He did it right at the beginning in the garden. God said you shall not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the enemy came and said but woah, did God really say? And this is what happens, it doesn’t just question what He says, we begin to question what we even believe ourselves.
And you see this right back in the new testament. Jesus comes. John sees Him and says this is the Lamb of God who’s going to take away the sin of the world. This is the assignment. This is what’s going to happen. Exclamation mark. And we find in Matthew 11 that John is now in prison and sends his disciples to Jesus and asks a question - doesn’t make a statement. The question he asks is “Are You the one? Or do we have to wait for another?” Why did John’s exclamation turn into a question? It’s right there in the verse friend because it says John was in prison. When you are in the prison of your own thinking and fear, when you’re in your own prison where you don’t understand what’s next, even exclamations will turn to questions.
And I feel today there’s people in this house that yesterday you lived in the exclamation, but today it’s just gone like this and you’re living in the question. Friend I want to invite you. If that’s you, I want you to stand right now. If you feel like there’s a question on your life and not an exclamation, I want you to stand because God is going to make the crooked ways straight right now. And it’s like I knew what we were doing. It’s what I thought the Lord was doing. It’s what I knew was going to happen. But it’s like things are now changing again. Can I suggest to you today change only hurts when we resist?
….I release the Key of David in this house. That You would open up what needs to be opened up and close what needs to be closed.
And Lord I just release acceleration on this house. Lord I release acceleration on every life Father right now in Jesus’ name. And Father I thank You that You are taking that which we thought was months and You’re causing days to take place. Taking that which we thought was in the coming days, Father, we release the suddenlies of God. We release the immediate, we release the “and now it came to pass.”
Matt 11:1 - And now it came to pass. This is going to be the sign of what God’s going to do. Of taking you out of chronos and into kairos. Some of you in this place are going to experience your watch or a clock stopping or changing time. And that will be the sign to you that God is taking you out of chronos and bringing you into kairos. Some people’s watches, some of you are actually going to lose watches. For those with Apple watches, go and get Apple Care. But some of you are going to lose watches. Some of you are going to see time stop. Because what God is stopping in this time, He’s starting in His.
I’ve shared this before and I’ll say it again. Some of us need to know God’s time zone….God’s time zone is now. It’s not then, it’s now. I remember being jet lagged to the hilt going into a conference, and a well known speaker had just come from 5 countries and looked like a spring chicken. And I’m like Lord why is he like a spring chicken and I look like a choked chicken? And the Lord said this to me, He said Gary because he’s in My time zone and you’re not. God’s time zone…when I said Lord what is that? He said Now. And as a good Baptist, as I was saved as, I asked the Lord for Scriptures. All of a sudden He started taking me through it….I want to tell you right now He’s saved the best til now.
