Children's Ministry
Children’s mission statement:
To bring children into the Father’s abiding presence
Equip children to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth
Release generations into their destinies
We are grateful for the opportunity to minister to your little ones. We feel we can best honor you and your children by providing a safe and loving environment. It is within this kind of atmosphere that our children will come to know and experience the Father’s love, the character and nature of Jesus, and learn to follow the leading of His Spirit. We believe that the truth of the Father’s love reveals the children’s identity and value which releases them to pursue and fulfill their destinies. It is to the commitment of fulfi lling this vision that we have set the following guidelines and policies for the nursery and preschool ministries at Grace Center.
We look forward to partnering with you and your children.
Marty and Julie Curley, Children's Pastors
PRESCHOOL MINISTRY POLICIES:
- We have a “well-child” policy. This means that children who have runny noses, fevers, diarrhea, questionable rashes, or coughing are asked to remain out of the class until these symptoms are gone. If your child has allergies that cause a rash or runny nose please notify the staff (a note from the doctor would also be appreciated).
- Please pick up your child(ren) at the pick-up time! If you are unable to pick them up at that time, please send another adult (over 18) to pick them up. (family # must be presented)
- Child must be signed in/picked up by an adult 18 or over unless arrangements have been made with the nursery pastor.
- Age limit in the nursery is from birth to 2 years old.
- Please label all your child’s belongings.
- If your child is just beginning to be potty trained, please notify the staff and bring a change of clothes for them.
- We ask that you bring a diaper for your child if they are still in diapers.
- If someone needs to stay with the child for a few moments until settled, we gladly invite you to do so.
- Any child that can walk should wear shoes (we want those cute little feet to be protected).
SECURITY:
There will be a minimum of two adults in each class (a teacher and at least one assistant). A Children’s Ministry application is available upon request. All teachers must pass a criminal record background check provided by the Trak-1 Technology screening service.
Bathroom/Diaper Changing Policy. Teacher or assistant takes at least two or more children to the bathroom at a time. No males are to escort girls to the bathroom or change diapers unless they are the child’s parent. No one shall enter a stall with a child unless the child needs assistance.
We have a Hall Monitor on duty from 11am - 12:30pm to assist in the security of your children. The Hall Monitor: is to be on duty during children’s classes; has authority to direct people to proper classrooms; assists wandering children to their appropriate place; helps maintain order; calls parents for a child in need.
